July 31 is the Feast Day of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus. Fifty-four years ago, at the age of 17, I entered the society as a somewhat naive and reckless young adult. What faith she had that he would overlook her viiolation of the law, see her faith, and heal her of her afflictions! Lord, increase our help us grow in your love and overcome our fears and our shortcomings.
