Novel Coronavirus

03-15-2020From Fr. FambriniFather Robert Fambrini, S.J.

Dear Parishioners of the St. Francis Xavier Jesuit Faith Community,

The Novel Coronavirus is a health concern for all people globally.  One of the primary goals at our St. Francis Xavier Jesuit Parish and School is to keep parishioners, parents, students and visitors to our church as safe as possible.  Over the coming weeks, we will provide vital updates and/or recommendations from varied sources.

Although the current risk of contracting the Novel Coronavirus remains low in Maricopa County, vigilance on everyone’s part, is of the utmost importance.  The current recommendations (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/prevent/preventing.htm) for keeping safe remain similar to the recommendations to prevent the spread of influenza or flu:

  • Wash your hands often
  • Properly wash your hands: the most effective manner is for at least 20 seconds
  • Keep hands away from your face; avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth
  • Stay at home if you feel unwell
  • Cover coughs and sneezes
  • Limit contact with family members who are ill
  • Practice healthy habits

Within the next week you will see hand sanitation stations in our public restrooms, at the entrances to St. Francis Xavier Church, Anderson Hall and the Parish Center. We ask that you use the dispensers.  Additionally, all volunteers will be asked to wear gloves when serving coffee and donuts or food of any kind.

St. Francis Xavier appreciates your attention to this matter, and we will continue to update you on any developments.  Please feel free to call our business office, 602-212-4514, if you have any questions.

In Christ,

Father Robert Fambrini, S.J., Pastor

Nuevo Coronavirus

Padre Roberto Fambrini, SJ, Pastor
