Ministry and Financial Highlights

09-26-2022From Fr. FambriniFr. Bob Fambrini, S.J.

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

There is life after death. Death is not the end but a door to something more. The gospel we read today shows us that there is one of two eternal destinations beyond that door.

Lazarus rests in the "bosom of Abraham," while the rich man languishes in torment. Then, seeing where his life has led him, the rich man turns his attention to the living left behind--they must be told what awaits and live the life to which Jesus calls them. Who then is responsible for delivering this message? We are -- today's followers of Jesus -- the church and, more particularly, the parish. That is our mission from Christ himself.

Because it resides in the heart of its neighborhoods, the parish is uniquely situated to share the Gospel message, according to Pope Francis. That is what we are doing at St. Francis Xavier. We are making a difference in the neighborhoods of central Phoenix and beyond. People's lives are changing because of the work of this parish. I am grateful for the commitment of the parishioners and friends of SFX during this past year. It is the greatest investment we can make as disciples of Jesus. Because of your commitment, 2000 people come together weekly -- in person and online -- to worship and develop a living relationship with the Lord. Because of your commitment, we offer a firm foundation in faith for our children and youth. Because of your commitment, students and young adults find a purpose in their lives. Because of your commitment, families find support, and then stranger finds a home.

The following report provides a snapshot of your commitment for this past fiscal year. I am grateful. Please take some time to review it. If you have any comments or questions, please get in touch with our Stewardship Director, Robin Margraf, at robin.margraf@sfxphx.org.

Sincerely in Christ,

Rev. Robert A. Fambrini, SJ
