The Parables of Jesus are among our Lord’s most poignant and enduring teachings. In them, Jesus tells us, his disciples, how to labor with him and bring about the Kingdom of God.
This series of five Monday evening sessions, will use historic and contemporary art; Greek and Jewish fables; parables from the Hebrew Scriptures; and fables from other cultures; to consider the historical context and messages of Jesus’ exceptional oral teachings and apply them to issues in contemporary faith and society. Participants will learn to pray the parables with Ignatian meditation between class sessions and be encouraged to make them part of daily prayer.
