Welcome to St. Francis Xavier Parish!

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

Thank you for visiting our website and I hope that you will get a sense of the “personality” of our parish community. St. Francis Xavier Parish, administered by the Jesuit Fathers of the West Coast Province, has been in existence for more than 88 years. It is located in the center of metropolitan Phoenix. At its founding, the parish was outside the city limits.

Our beautiful parish church building, opened in 1959, and seats 1500 people. More than 6000 households are registered in the parish and our elementary school has 600 young boys and girls being educated in the Jesuit tradition. The parish is vibrant with 58 ministries supported by paid staff and numerous, generous volunteers.

Evangelization and the celebration of the sacraments are of primary concern for us all as we strive to live and spread the Good News. The principles of Ignatian spirituality guide all our efforts to bring people closer, to a more personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The past ten years have been a momentous time in the history for the parish. In 2007 we initiated a capital campaign to build a new elementary school to replace the old one that was more than 60 years old. Because of the generosity of the families and friends of SFX, we completed the new school and dedicated it in 2013. With the support of generous benefactors we were able to move directly to constructing the second phase of our Master Plan, our parish hall and new administrative center. This complex was dedicated in January of 2016. Our campaign committee continues its dedication to hard work to retire the final three million dollar balance to finish paying off the parish debt. I ask for your prayerful consideration of making a pledge or a onetime gift to helping us achieve our goal.

Again, welcome to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Faith Community. If you have any questions that the website does not answer, please call the parish center so that we can assist you.

God bless you.
