Women's Lenten Retreat

Mary Romo is a long time faculty member in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of San Francisco. This past May she received the USF Service Award " in grateful recognition of loyal service and dedication to the ideals of Jesuit education."
Mary holds post graduate degrees in English literature and Theology. Her doctoral dissertation is entitled "Aggiornamento: American Catholic Women Post Vatican II."
She participates in numerous ministries at St. Ignatius Parish in San Francisco, among them being director of the RCIA program and member of its Leadership Committee.
Drawing upon her background in Ignatian Spirituality, she is spiritual director for men and women of all ages and facilitates retreats throughout the Bay Area. She regularly gives presentations on such topics as Sacred Scripture, Women in the Church, Ethics, and Spirituality. Mary has three grown sons and lives with her husband in Tiburon across the bay from her native San Francisco.
Fr. John P. Mossi, S.J., is a Jesuit Priest of the California Province of the Society of Jesus. Born and raised in San Francisco, he entered the Jesuits in 1962 and was ordained in 1973 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. He initially served at Our Lady of Sorrows parish in Santa Barbara, then facilitated retreats for seven years at the Jesuit Retreat Center of Los Altos.
Currently, Fr. Mossi serves as Director for Benefactor Relations for the California Province Advancement Office, Los Gatos, California and last September led Jesuit Benefactors on Pilgrimage to Ireland. Fr. Mossi has helped on the Busy Person’s Retreat and Java with Jesuits Presentation here at St. Francis Xavier Parish. He is looking forward to assisting at the Women’s Lenten Retreat, Saturday, March 25, Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord.

The book, Retreat in the Real World, Finding Intimacy with God Wherever You Are, can be ordered through the Marian Shop or online at Amazon. Individual chapters of the book can also be downloaded at onlineministries.creighton.edu.
Retreat in the Real World can be done on your own or in a local cohort. SFX does not have a local retreat planned at this time. However, if you are interested in putting together a group, contact Mike. The parish is happy to launch the retreat for groups.
