Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Thinking about becoming Catholic?
Feeling at home at mass but don’t know why?
Want to know more about the Catholic faith?

What is RCIA?

RCIA, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is a Sacramental formation process based on the fundamental values of the Christian way of life as reflected in our parish community. Through this process, people are introduced to the essential teachings of the Catholic faith.

Throughout the RCIA journey, we develop and grow in our personal relationship with Jesus Christ through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. We also grow in knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Faith.

The format of instruction is group presentation, individual study and prayer. Sponsors from our community companion and support our candidates on their spiritual journey. Our goal is to prepare the catechumens and candidates for full initiation into the Catholic Church and a lifelong commitment of sharing in the Paschal mystery.

Our goal is for participants to be able to make an informed decision to join the Catholic Church through the reception of one or more of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.

RCIA is for adults:

  • Who were never baptized.
  • Who were baptized in another Christian faith and who wish to become Catholic.
  • Who were baptized Catholic but did not receive Holy Communion or Confirmation.
