During this time in Lent, especially when there will be adults who will receive full incorporation in the Catholic Church at Easter Vigil, the scripture readings may be taken from Cycle A rather than Cycle C. The gospel selections for Mar 20, Mar 27 and Apr 3 are chosen to support the Catechumens as they move toward Easter Vigil.

Last Sunday, the gospel focused on the Woman at the Well and Jesus offering her the WATER of everlasting life. This Sunday the focus is on the man born blind from birth. Jesus cures his blindness and gives him physical and spiritual SIGHT. Next Sunday the focus will be on the raising of Lazarus and NEW LIFE.

Let us reflect on our faith journey and beg for the grace to appreciate God's eternal gifts to us: living water that only he can provide; sight to know Jesus to be the Messiah; new life as we will one day share in the Resurrection.

Una reflexión sobre el Salmo 97

Durante este tiempo de Cuaresma, especialmente cuando habrá adultos que recibirán una plena incorporación a la Iglesia Católica en la Vigilia Pascual, las lecturas de las Escrituras pueden tomarse del Ciclo A en lugar del Ciclo C. Las selecciones del evangelio para el 20 de marzo, el 27 de marzo y el 27 de abril 3 son elegidos para apoyar a los catecúmenos en su avance hacia la Vigilia Pascual.

El domingo pasado, el evangelio se enfocó en la Mujer en el Pozo y Jesús ofreciéndole el AGUA de la vida eterna. Este domingo el foco está en el ciego de nacimiento. Jesús cura su ceguera y le da la VISTA física y espiritual. El domingo la atención se centrará en la próxima resurrección de Lázaro y la NUEVA VIDA.

Reflexionemos sobre nuestro camino de fe y pidamos la gracia de apreciar los dones eternos de Dios para nosotros: agua viva que solo él puede proporcionar; vista para conocer a Jesús como el Mesías; nueva vida como un día compartiremos en la Resurrección.
